Welcome Groupon customers!
The video above should make it pretty clear how to set yourself up for your first (and FREE) class. After that, registering for more is pretty similar. When you come in for your free class, BRING THE GROUPON RECEIPT WITH BARCODE IN WITH YOU. This is your proof that you bought one, and your only proof. If you forget to bring it in with you, you’ll have a fun free class, but you won’t be able to register for any others until we see your Groupon!
After you start your Groupon, you simply look at our online schedule and click on the Level I class you want to attend. Classes are available for registration until they are full (typically 6 attendees) or 12 hours prior to their start time.
FAQ
Q: When does my Groupon Expire?
March 14th, 2012
Q: Once I redeem it, how long are the 15 classes good for?
60 Days after your redemption. That means once you do your first class, you have 60 days to do the rest. This averages out to about two classes a week as an average, but you can go faster if you like.
Q: If I am new to Crossfit training (or any hard training) how often should I come?
Try starting out with the Saturday free class. Then look at coming in on Tuesday or Wednesday the following week. Then after that maybe 3 times a week. Twice per week is a minimum, but good for the deconditioned. 3 times is a good frequency for healthy people that want to get healthier. 4-5 times a week is for those people who are determined to kick ass and take names.
Q: What do I do if I can’t do Pull Ups?
You don’t have to be able to do any of the movements that we list in the WOD on your first day. We expect to have to teach you a lot and we expect for you to be good at somethings and not so good at others. When you do your first class you’ll see that there are a variety of fitness levels in the class, and everyone is going to be working hard for them. If you are really concerned that you can’t keep up with the movements or the intensity level, just talk to a coach. We actually have a course called ‘fundamentals‘ that we recommend to ALL beginners, irrespective of fitness level. In it you will learn the movements as well as ramp up in intensity with each lesson. If you think this sounds like a smarter idea for you, we can suspend your Groupon for as long as it takes for you to complete the course.
Q: What kind of classes can I go to?
For your first one, sign up for one of the Free ones! After that, probably Level I. These will help you to master the core elements of our programming. Rest assured, they aren’t any easier, they just contain less fancy moves.
Q: I’ve been doing Crossfit on my own for six months, why can’t I come to the advanced (Level II) classes?
Maybe you can. We’ll see. Until you come in for at least one or two Level I classes, just bear with us. Unfortunately in our experience, very few people who train on their own meet our performance standards at first, but sometimes it doesn’t take them long to learn. Any of our coaches would be happy to go over what the Level II requirements are with you outside of regular class time.
Q: What if I miss a class? Can I make it up?
If you have an appointment and you don’t show up for it, that session is billed as serviced. This is pretty standard stuff. You can always schedule yourself for another class, but you will be using up two of your classes in doing so.
Q: What if I show up late? Can I just attend the next class after the one I was scheduled for?
See above
Q: Does Full Circle offer nutrition counseling?
We do, typically arranged as personal training. Any time for which our coaches are available for one on one training is a time you could be getting nutritional counseling from them. We also offer workshops in a group setting every few months.
Q: What is the barbell class all about?
The Barbell Strength and Power class focuses on some Olympic lifting (Clean, Jerk and Snatch), some barbell lifts (Deadlift, Press, Squat) and some additional conditioning work (Dumbbells, KB’s, bodyweight) with the express purpose of improving your technique and making you stronger.
Until you have established 1RMs in most of the lifts above, this class probably won’t be right for you at first. However, it’s open to all fitness levels who can perform the above techniques correctly, safely and consistently with known 1RMs.
Q: The olympic lifts (handstand push ups, muscle ups etc) are HARD! Where can I go to get extra help?
There are many Crossfit related resources we share (like every hour) on our Facebook page and in our newsletters. If you want direct help with something, ask your favorite coach to help you with it one on one. We have times day and night that we can meet you to work on YOUR needs.
Q: What do I do when my 15 sessions from Groupon are done?
Hopefully join us a regular member. That was why we did this Groupon thing, to get more new people to try us out. Look, what we do is not right for everybody. It’s hard. Some people don’t want to get strong. We accept that. But some of you will LOVE IT here. If that’s you, just talk to a coach about signing up. We offer memberships based on how often and how long you want to train with us.
